Oasis Active free dating: With any free service you are going to have to weigh the cost savings against the quality of services. With regards to oasis active this tradeoff seems to comes in the form of banner ads, fewer features and potentially a higher risk of non-genuine members. Now that’s not to say oasis active membership is of a lower standard than match or other sites but with any free service it seems you are going to have to contend with a potentially higher level of scammers and generally people with limited interest in actual dating. I think people willing to pay for a service are generally going to take it much more seriously.

In terms of the ads on oasis active I did find them quite distracting with banner ads flashing on every page and even some seemed quite strategically placed below search results so they were quite easily confused with actual results. That said it is free and someone has to pay the piper.

Oasis Active does have a live feel with most of the emphasis it seemed on the live chat service although I felt the chat system was a little clunky and difficult to manage multiple chats. It did have an ‘approve or decline’ contact service which I felt was at least one layer of screening although a little frustrating when you initiate the contact. It was easy to block people and it had a social feel as it provided a list of chat contacts.

Oasis Active is certainly one of the better free dating sites I have used; it is a relatively new design, easy and fast to get started and I felt it was quite simple to navigate. As all free sites I came across a number of members simply looking for sex chat and some questionable profiles. Given the ease in which I created my profile I would imagine it would not be difficult for a scammer to set-up one up as well so one should keep their guard up asI think this may be par for the course on free dating sites. One important statistic to remember is that 20% of the profiles get 80% of the attention. Generally speaking we all think we are younger, smarter and better looking than we are. It is human nature to look for the perfect partner and we all have certain characteristics we look for. The fact is you can filter out potential partners by age, height, weight, interests and by their looks. This means we are all filtering out a lot of potential partners because frankly we think too highly of ourselves. The lucky few left in our results are very likely the same ones in left in everyone else’s search results. So remember this 20% is getting 80% of the attention so they are going to be highly discerning if not completely overwhelmed. Don’t take rejection to heart if you want to be happy simply put less emphasis on peoples looks. There are many very nice, attractive people out there who may not be as photogenic or poetic or quite frankly have such a high opinion of themselves. When you browsing through photos one click at a time try and consider this and try to be open minded we live in a very critical, objective society and online dating is not helping matters. Try and look passed the photo and try and read into what people say about themselves with an open mind 'don't be so critical'.

Do not be too critical of the site if you have a bad or boring experience. Be positive, be careful but not too suspicious of people and you will get out of it what you put in.
